At the middle school level, you’ll discover that your student is largely independent. You may want to check periodically to make sure that your student is meeting assignment expectations, but aside from that, your student should be mostly independent. During middle school, your level of supervision will likely diminish – but not dissolve completely.

Middle School Guitar
Have you ever dreamed of playing the guitar? Whether you love music, want to play guitar for your family and friends, or desire to be a music star, this course is a great place to start. No prior music experience is needed. You will learn the fundamentals of music and the basic skills necessary to play a wide variety of music styles. Student guides, Carlos and Ariel, will guide you through each step of this journey toward becoming a skilled guitarist and musician. You can learn the basic knowledge and skills to maintain a guitar. You will also learn basic musical characteristics and learn to read notes.
Basics of Creative Writing
The Liberty University Online Academy’s Creative Writing course is a semester-long course that explores different genres of writing, through both reading and writing, as well as the other necessary elements needed to improve writing and composition skills. This course is designed with the goal of inspiring students to develop original pieces and ideas. Through writing and thinking, students will learn to become better readers, writers, and thinkers. The skills focused on in this course will help students in other courses as well, especially English. Writing genres covered are autobiographies, family storytelling, fairy tales, fantasies, short stories, and journals. * Semester Course (Recommended for students in 6th – 8th grade)
Middle School Online Academic Success Course
The Liberty University Online Academy’s Online Academic Success course helps students master their ability to study, learn, and retain information in a way that best fits their learning style. Students will discover their learning style, learn how to use time effectively, learn study skills, learn tips for taking better notes and learn how to be a successful online student. Students will also engage in speed reading lessons which will help students to reduce the amount of time required to read and study course material. *Semester Course
