Ready to take the next step toward enrolling your student at LUOA? Below you’ll find information about the types of documents you’ll need to submit in order to get your student started.

We’ve broken these requirements down into various categories of students. Some of these categories overlap, so be sure to check out all of the sections that apply to your student!

Please note: Dual Enrollment students also need to meet the minimum requirements listed below. Additionally, there are some requirements that are unique to Dual Enrollment admission. Contact 028-36200464 for more information.

Public and Private Schooled Students

Students who enroll full time in LUOA must submit official academic records that show the student’s most up-to-date progress. Academic records are not required for part-time K-12 students.

Academic records may include transcripts, report cards, or a combination of the two. Your Student Onboarding Checklist will provide a more detailed list of the documents needed for your student.

To be considered official, the student’s academic records must be sent directly from the previous school to LUOA. If you would like us to request your student’s academic records from their previous school on your behalf, be sure to fill out the Previous Enrollment Form.

Each grade level also has additional requirements for academic records to be considered official:

K-8th Grade

If high school credit has not been awarded, an official signature or embossed seal is not required for K-8 academic records.
If high school credit has been awarded, a signature or seal is required on the academic records to be considered official.

9th-12th Grade

Academic records for grades 9-12 are only considered official if they are signed by a representative from the school administration and/or embossed with the official school seal.
Academic records must indicate the number of credits awarded for each course.

Please note that LUOA may choose to enroll a student using unofficial student records. However, they do so with the understanding that, once matriculated, a student is not able to register for additional courses nor will LUOA records be released until official records from the previous school have been satisfied.

Unofficial academic records may also be used for initial evaluation of transfer credits.

K-12 students will need to submit a birth certificate as part of the admission process. Students applying to LUOA must be between the ages of 4-19. Students applying to Kindergarten must reach the age of 5 on or before September 30 of the school year for which they are applying.

Students who are 19 years old, and who will not be 20 on or before August 1 of the school year in which they are applying, are only eligible to enter LUOA if they have successfully completed 11th grade and are entering as a senior. Students who will be 20 years of age on or before August 1 of the school year in which they are applying will not be permitted to enroll in Liberty University Online Academy.

How to Submit Documentation

Birth certificates and unofficial academic records can be submitted online via your child’s Student Onboarding Checklist, as well as via email, fax, and/or mail.
Official academic records must be sent directly from the previous school to LUOA. This can be done via email, fax, and/or mail. If you would like us to request your student’s academic records from their previous school on your behalf, be sure to fill out the Previous Enrollment Form.
Immunization/health records must be submitted via email, fax, and/or mail.

Homeschooled Students

To be considered official, the student’s academic records must be signed by the parent/guardian with a physical or digital signature. Additionally, academic records should include the following:

Academic records should reflect all courses completed, credits earned (or hours spent), and the letter grade earned.
Courses should be categorized according to the intended grade level.

Please note that LUOA may choose to enroll a student using unofficial student records. International Students

Effective Nov. 1, 2022, if your child is in grades 9-12, plans on attending LUOA for high school, and has completed any secondary education or college-level academic coursework outside of the U.S., they must have their international transcripts evaluated course-by-course by a credential evaluation service provider that is a member of the National Association of Credential Services (NACES). If your child is in grade 8 and plans on transferring any courses for high school credit, they must have these evaluated as well. LUOA recommends that families work with International Education Evaluations.

How to Claim Your Account

A Student Account is needed in order to access your child’s Liberty email address, log into their curriculum, and more. A Parent Account can be used to complete Financial Check-In, access a personalized Student Onboarding Checklist, and carry out other important tasks.

Don’t Forget!

If you are ever locked out of your account and need to reset your password, you will need another method to verify your account. For that reason, you will be prompted to set up an alternate email address and/or phone number when claiming your account.

Please provide one or both forms of authentication so that you can easily reset your password if you’re ever locked out.
